In IELTS speaking part 1, the questions are often personal and revolve around familiar topics such as: hometown, family, job, study, hobby, etc. This part lasts for about 4-5 minutes, out of a total of 11-14 minutes of the IELTS speaking test. The questions in this part are usually not too difficult and ask about the candidate’s basic information. However, preparing and practicing answering the questions in the first part of the test is essential for you to get a high score in the IELTS speaking test. Moreover, if you can answer this part smoothly, it will definitely be a good start to an IELTS speaking test.

Mr. John King, teacher at SEAMEO RETRAC, will provide useful knowledge and help you practice answering the questions in the first part of the IELTS speaking test correctly and effectively.
