From June 6-11, 2011, SEAMEO RETRAC in cooperation with Lao Ministry of Education (MOE) conducted an in-country training course in educational management for basic education trainers at the National University of Lao PDR.

In attendance were 35 lecturers from the three Centers of Educational Management and Teacher Development in Vangvieng, Luang Prabang, and Pakse as well as from the National University of Lao PDR, Champasak University and Souphanouvong University. The training course focused on updating the knowledge, skills and practices necessary to improve their training capacity for basic education trainers with such topics as Instructional Leadership, Professional Development, Strategic Planning in Education, Change Management, Student Assessment, and Educational Issues and Policies in Laos.
