SEAMEO RETRAC
On November 14, 2011, SEAMEO RETRAC signed an MOU with Curtin University, Australia, at the Center.In attendance were leaders and senior staff of the two institutions. The MOU will pave the way for the joint training, especially Master program in Education.
On November 7-8, 2011, SEAMEO RETRAC, with the sponsorship of Japan Foundation, organized the International Conference on “The Social Value of Educational Technology in Southeast Asia: an Intellectual Exchange Conference for Japan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Vietnam” for more than 30 educators, researchers, educational administrators and leaders from Japan, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam.On October 22, 2011, the Canada – Vietnam International Mobility and Partnership was co-organized by SEAMEO RETRAC, Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC) and Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) at SEAMEO RETRAC.

On October 14, 2011, SEAMEO RETRAC and the U.S. Embassy and the US Consulate General co-organized the U.S. Alumni Conference on “Making a Contribution in Vietnam.”
The event brought together over 100 Vietnamese participants of U.S. Government exchange programs as well as Vietnamese alumni of American institutions. At the invitation of MOET, Dr. Do Huy Thinh attended the October 11 preparatory meeting for the establishment of a new SEAMEO regional center in Vietnam for lifelong learning (SEAMEO CELLL).
He had a presentation about the experiences and activities SEAMEO RETRAC had been through including sources of funding, diversification of programs and services, staff development in the face of lack of national budget and other key sources.

Jointly conducted by SEAMEO RETRAC, HCMC-TESOL Association, Curtin University, and Hue University College of Foreign Languages, the International Conference on “ENGLISH FOR ALL” held on September 15-17, 2011, provided TESOL professionals an opportunity to share their new research findings and ideas in English teaching.
