Curtin University and SEAMEO RETRAC conducted an opening ceremony for the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, Intake 12 (2013–2014) on September 09, 2013.
On August 29-30, 2013, the 4th Annual International Conference on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) “English Language Learning: a Focus on the Learner” was held at the Center’s premises by SEAMEO RETRAC in cooperation with TESOL-HCMC and Curtin University, Australia.To implement the goals of the Vietnam’s National Foreign Languages 2020 Project, in July and August 2013, SEAMEO RETRAC conducted five courses of English language proficiency for teachers of English in Can Tho, Tay Ninh, Long An, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan.
After four weeks in operation, the Summer Fun 2013, co-organized by Queens College, City University of New York and SEAMEO RETRAC, concluded on July 26, 2013. A closing ceremony was organized for more than 200 students who attended the course from July 01 to 26, 2013 at the Center’s premises.This special four-week English course was designed for children from 07 to 15 years old. SEAMEO RETRAC in collaboration with the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and Imagine Learning Company organized an information session on “Imagine Learning – English Software for Vietnam” on July 27, 2013 at the Center’s premises.Imagine Learning is currently being utilized in 47 states in the United States and some countries in the world. SEAMEO RETRAC in collaboration with the National Geographic Learning – Cengage Learning organized a training workshop on “Teaching Strategies to Prepare for the TOEIC Exam” on July 18, 2013 at the Center’s premises.The training workshop was facilitated by Mr. David Persey, Training Specialist, National Geographic Learning. The workshop drew the participation of about 30 teachers teaching TOEIC program at the Center.
