Workshop on Teaching English to Young Learners
The five-day workshop on “Teaching English to Young Learners” conducted at SEAMEO Regional Training Center (Vietnam) and supported by the Regional English Language Office in Thailand and the the US Conculate General in Ho Chi Minh City commenced on March 1, 2010.

Short Training Course on Educational Management and Leadership for Open University at NIE, Singapore
EO RETRAC in cooperation with National Institute of Education, Singapore (NIE), organized a training course on “Educational Management and Leadership” for leaders and administrators from HCMC Open University at NIE from February 24 – March 1, 2010.

DFS faculty meeting

The graduation ceremony of the English Language Teaching – International Certificate – Intake 1, jointly conducted by Camosun College (Canada) and SEAMEO Regional Training Center (Vietnam) was organized on February 01, 2010 at SEAMEO RETRAC.

45th SEAMEO council conference in Cebu, Philippines
The Annual 45th Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Council Conference was held from January 26 – 29, 2010 in Cebu, the Philippines.
Attending the conference were more than 200 delegates who are Ministers of Education, High Officials from SEAMEO member countries, affiliate members, and international organizations. Establishing Three New SEAMEO Regional Centers in Indonesia
The 45th SEAMEO Council Conference convened in Cebu – Philippines (January 28, 2010) has approved the three new SEAMEO regional centers including SEAMEO QITEP in Mathematics, SEAMEO QITEP in Science and SEAMEO QITEP in Language.
The three centers, hosted by the Ministry of National Education, Indonesia, specialize in promoting training programs and activities for improving the quality of teachers and educational personnel in science, mathematics, and languages.

Christmas fun fair for kids
On the twentieth of December, 2009, SEAMEO Kiddy programs organized Christmas Fun Fair for all Kiddy students. This annual event is highly appreciated as it meets the expectations of Kiddy students as well as their parents.

SEAMEO RETRAC with the sponsorship of the Fulbright Alumni organized a training workshop on “Improving student affairs at universities and colleges in disadvantaged areas of Vietnam: Best practices learned from universities in the United States” from December 21-23, 2009.
