On December 12, 2009, SEAMEO Kiddy Programs organized a sharing workshop to provide teachers with an opportunity to express their interests and share their teaching experiences in teaching children.
From December 07 to 11, 2009, SEAMEO RETRAC in collaboration with SEAMEO SEAMOLEC organized a training course on Web-based Course Development Using Moodle for Lecturers.
The training aimed at assisting lecturers to apply ICT, especially Moodle, in teaching and managing students and lessons. The presentations and facilitation were highly appreciated by participants and the experience shared by the trainers in this field has brought about a lot of insightful and helpful information and practices. The first intake of this three-week full time graduate-level certificate program, jointly conducted by Camosun College (Canada) and SEAMEO RETRAC, was commenced on November 23, 2009This program has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam, and qualifies graduates to apply for a work permit as an English language teacher in Vietnam. The certificate, English Language Teaching – International Certificate (ELT-IC), will be issued by Camosun College, Canada.

…The second workshop of the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics Program – Intake 5, jointly conducted by Curtin University of Technology (Australia), SEAMEO Regional Language Center (RELC) and SEAMEO RETRAC, commenced on November 16, 2009 with the participation of 42 students.
SEAMEO RETRAC conducted a workshop on ‘The role of English in Asia: Implications for language learning’ on November 04, 2009. The presenter was Professor Andy Kirkpatrick from Hong Kong Institute of Education, a well- known expert in the field in Asia and the Pacific.
SEAMEO RETRAC in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training (DoET), Tay Ninh, conducted from October 31 to November 1 a training course on ICT application for teachers from various high schools in Tay Ninh Province.
The major objective of the training was to develop a core pool of teachers who help deploy the ICT application in teaching at their schools. The training workshop focused on lesson planning with the assistance of PowerPoint and Flash.
